the light you bring

the light you bring

a celebration that asked us to capture light

some orders arrive as a list of specifications. this one arrived as a feeling.

dr. rebecca smith reached out about the nch hospice and palliative medicine fellowship post/graduation celebration and awards ceremony. the theme was “shining star,” and the evening was built around a single idea: honoring the fellows for everything they had accomplished, and encouraging them to keep letting their light shine in the work ahead.

it was a privilege to help carry that sentiment into something they could hold.

we created candle favors for every guest, dressed in soft cream bags with deep purple satin and finished with little tags that read honoring, compassion, excellence, achievement. for each fellow we made something more personal still: an “evening star” candle, named just for them, set beside a card that said with gratitude for the light you bring.

the whole room leaned into it. purple linens, silver stars, crystal scattered across the tables, a rooftop terrace under a wide florida sky. but the part we love most is smaller than all of that. it is the moment a fellow picks up a candle and finds their own name on the label.

there is something fitting about candles for an occasion like this. a flame is the oldest way we have of marking that something matters. and when the candle burns down, the vessel stays, a quiet keepsake from a night these doctors worked years to reach.

dr. smith’s words afterward meant the world to us:

“every detail was thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. the candles and favors perfectly complemented our shining star theme. the personalized candles created for each fellow were especially meaningful and truly made them feel honored.”

this is the kind of work we love most. not just candles, but candles made to hold a moment.

if you are planning a graduation, an awards ceremony, a fellowship celebration, or any evening that deserves to be remembered, we would love to create something just for it. visit our custom orders page to start the conversation.
