It started in 2020, with a need to create.

The Beginning

A creative outlet became something more.

In 2020, while raising my two boys through COVID, I found myself needing a creative outlet. The world felt uncertain, and candle making gave me a place to slow down, work with my hands, and create something beautiful.

What began as something small and personal gradually became the beginning of a•scenting. It gave me confidence, purpose, and a vision for a company that could bring beauty, fragrance, and meaning into people’s homes.

More than anything, I hope building this company shows my boys that an idea is worth pursuing. You can begin with very little, learn as you go, and create something you are proud of. I want them to know that they can do anything they put their minds to.

The Next Chapter

Some journeys become even more meaningful when they are shared.

One of the unexpected gifts this journey brought me was meeting Julia. Over time, our friendship grew, and so did her place in a•scenting.

Having Julia become part of the company has been incredibly special. Her ideas, energy, and willingness to jump in have helped me grow personally and have helped a•scenting grow, too.

I have truly enjoyed working with her. There is something wonderful about having someone beside you to share ideas with, work through challenges with, and celebrate the little successes along the way. Building a company can feel very personal, and having a friend to create and grow with has made the experience so much more enjoyable.

The Find

We believe beautiful things deserve to be found again.

We share a love for beautiful old things with meaning, history, and character. Estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and antique shops are where forgotten pieces wait to be discovered and loved again.

We are drawn to vessels with weight and character, especially the kind of vintage glass that catches the light differently than anything made today. We pick them up, turn them over in our hands, and imagine the life they could have in someone’s home.

The Pour

From something beautiful to something useful.

The idea was simple: what if a beautiful vessel could also hold a candle? What if we could pour fragrance into something worth keeping long after the wax was gone?

That vision led us to clean soy wax, carefully balanced fragrances, and vessels that deserve a second life. Every candle is poured by hand in small batches in Delray Beach, Florida, with care given to every detail.

The Keep

Designed to remain part of your home.

Most candles are made to be used up and thrown away. Ours are created to leave something beautiful behind.

When the wax is gone, what remains is a piece of glassware that can become a vase, candy dish, jewelry holder, or meaningful part of your home with a history all its own.

That is the heart of a•scenting: the candle burns down, the vessel stays.

The Name

A name rooted in fragrance and growth.

a•scenting is a play on words. Ascending means to rise, while scenting means to fill a space with fragrance. Together, they describe what we hope to do: elevate the everyday through scent, beauty, and story.

The dot in the middle is intentional. It is a pause, a breath, and a small reminder to slow down and notice the beautiful things around you.
