This Petal is poured into a vintage cut crystal champagne coupe with a deep fan-and-starburst bowl set on a diamond-point foot. The coupe itself has one of the most storied silhouettes in glassware — invented in England in 1663, perfected in the courts of 18th-century France, tangled up in centuries of royal mythology, and crowned by the Jazz Age as the glass of Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, and every flapper worth her pearls. She is meant to be held, raised, and admired. When the wax is gone, pour champagne. Or keep her as a single-stem vase. Or let her hold rings on a vanity. She has always been a vessel for the good parts.

The Vessel
A vintage lead crystal champagne coupe with a deep fan-and-starburst cut pattern, a baluster stem, and a diamond-point foot. No maker’s mark. Likely mid-20th century, continuing the cut-crystal tradition that began in 17th-century England. Sourced from a South Florida estate sale. Minor imperfections may be present — these are marks of origin and age, not flaws.

Candle Care
Trim wick to ¼” before each burn. Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges on the first burn to prevent tunneling. Burn for no more than 2–3 hours at a time. Never leave unattended. When a thin layer of wax remains, it’s time to retire the flame and start the vessel’s second life. Hand wash after use. Not microwave or dishwasher safe.
