Veil | Vintage Cristal d’Arques Longchamp
Veil | Vintage Cristal d’Arques Longchamp
Soft and unfussy, like the moment the windows open and the sheets come off the line. Veil is the quiet part of the day — warm light, fresh linen, nothing trying too hard.
This Veil is poured into a vintage Cristal d’Arques Longchamp rocks glass, one of the most iconic French crystal patterns of the last century. She is 24% lead crystal, made in Arques, France. Her upper bowl is cut in smooth vertical panels that pull light up toward the rim. Her base is a dense field of diamond-point facets that catch the light like a jewel from below. Longchamp was introduced in 1968 and went on to grace more American tables than any other crystal pattern — a fixture of bridal registries, dinner parties, and the kind of home where the good glasses came out for no particular reason at all.
She is a serious piece of French crystal, and filling her with something as quiet as clean cotton feels exactly right. The warmth of the wax against the fire of the cut. A classic vessel doing something unexpected.
When the wax is gone, she returns to the bar cart. Or the bedside. Or the sideboard with a single rose in her. She has earned a second life wherever you decide to put her.
Every vessel is a one-of-a-kind vintage find. No two are alike. The candle burns down, the vessel stays.

The Vessel
A vintage Cristal d’Arques Longchamp pattern rocks glass. 24% lead crystal, made in Arques, France by Cristal d’Arques Paris. The Longchamp pattern was introduced in 1968 and has been a staple of fine French glassware for over four decades, recognizable by its smooth vertical panel cuts on the upper bowl and its densely cut diamond-point base. Sourced from a South Florida estate sale. Minor imperfections may be present — these are marks of origin and age, not flaws.
Candle Care
Trim wick to ¼” before each burn. Allow the wax to melt fully to the edges on the first burn to prevent tunneling. Burn for no more than 3–4 hours at a time. Never leave unattended. When a thin layer of wax remains, it’s time to retire the flame and start the vessel’s second life. Hand wash after use. Not microwave or dishwasher safe.
Gifting
Veil was made to be given. Each one ships nestled in tissue paper, ready to gift as-is or wrap on your own. Because every vessel is unique, every gift is truly one of a kind.
